A renovation proposal for a private residence in Sarrià–Sant Gervasi, Barcelona. The project is centred on material ageing, spatial openness, and the relationship between the interior and nature.
Existing steel beams are preserved and left exposed, allowing the structure to remain visible throughout the house. Natural materials and daylight define the interior, while large openings strengthen the connection to the surrounding landscape.
The material palette is informed by the Japanese appreciation of ageing, allowing surfaces to change naturally through time and use.
